If you are measuring a cylinder, Measure the distance across the circular end of the cylinder. If the circumference (the distance around the circle on the vase) tapers down or gets larger on the vase, use the larger dimension in your calculations.
The amounts shown should be used as a guideline only. Actual amounts needed will vary due to factors such as type of water used, and how long they were allowed to expand prior to placement in the container. Due to differences in hydration, it is better to order slightly more than the calculator recommends, just to be safe.
